A group of
Auckland law students are causing a stir with their tongue-in-cheek parody of
Robin Thicke's hit song 'Blurred lines'. They've
released a feminist response to Thicke's song which has drawn criticism
for "blurring the lines" between consensual and non-consensual sex.
The hit's promo video also features topless models.
The 22-year-old women and their male friends made a parody video as part of Auckland University's law revue - a show of 40 skits performed at SkyCity Theatre last week. After 300,000 hits on YouTube the students' video was taken down, but they say it's no more offensive than the original which is derogatory to women - and at least they've got people talking about that. |
